Usher has revealed he was supposed to form a supergroup with JAY-Z, Diddy and Pharrell Williams.

The ‘Caught Up’ hitmaker – who is set to headline the Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show on February 11 – has revealed the four artists got too “caught up in the moment” and were too “distracted” to get their project off the ground.

Appearing on ‘Club Shay Shay’, he spilled of the collaborations that never took off: “You gon’ hate me for this one.

“JAY-Z, Pharrell, Diddy, and me was supposed to be a group. Yeah, that’s crazy. You gon’ hate me for that I know.”

He continued: “We was talking about it and having secret meetings about it, talking about music and how we gon’ flip it.

The business of it. And somehow man, we just got distracted. And it never happened. That’s the one that I actually wish would have happened.”

The trio have collaborated with Usher individually, with the ‘Love In This Club’ hitmaker teaming up with Pharell on ‘U Don’t Have to Call’, ‘Hot Tottie’ with JAY-Z and ‘I Need a Girl (Part One)’ with Diddy.

Jay also teamed up with Pharrell’s Neptunes on ‘Excuse Me Miss’ and ‘Frontin’.

Meanwhile, Usher has just unveiled his star-studded tracklisting for his new album ‘Coming Home’.

Following the release of the singles ‘Good Good’ featuring Summer Walker and 21 Savage, ‘Risk It All’ featuring H.E.R., and ‘Standing Next To You (Remix)’ featuring BTS’ Jungkook, the R’n’B superstar revealed the 20-track collection also boasts the title track with Burna Boy, ‘A-Town Girl’ with Latto, ‘Cold Blooded’ with The-Dream, and ‘Ruin’ with Pheelz.

Alongside the list, he wrote on Instagram: “U been asking… So I had to deliver.”

It’s set for release on February 9, two days before his Superbowl set.

‘Coming Home’ is Usher’s first solo album in nearly eight years since 2016’s ‘Hard II Love’ and his first studio album since 2018’s ‘A’, a collaborative album with Zaytoven.
