Written by on June 21, 2024

She’s working late, ‘cause she’s a record breaker!

Sabrina Carpenter today becomes the youngest female artist in Official Chart history to hold the Number 1 and Number 2 spots on the Official Singles Chart in the same week, with Please Please Please and Espresso respectively.

Having recently enjoyed a five-week stint at the summit with Espresso, Sabrina’s latest single Please Please Please lifts two this week, becoming her second chart-topper in less than two months.

Aged 25 years, 1 month and 10 days, Sabrina surpasses a record previously held by Ariana Grande. Grande was 25 years, 7 months and 20 days old when she achieved the same feat in February 2019, with 7 rings and break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored occupying Numbers 1 and 2 respectively.

Please Please Please is also the UK’s most-streamed song this week, totalling 9.8 million combined streams. Espresso comes in second here, with 8.1 million.

Luton-born singer-songwriter Myles Smith claims a career-best this week, as Stargazing lifts one to a new peak (6). Could Stargazing go on to be crowned this year’s Official Song of the Summer?

On his first-ever Official Top 10 single, Myles Smith tells Official Charts: “It’s beautiful to see Stargazing resonating with so many people, what a start to a wild journey and lovely summer. I refuse to go out a one hit wonder – I can’t wait to do it again! So much love for the support.”

With the announcement of his sixth studio album F1-Trillion, Post Malone’s Morgan Wallen team-up I Had Some Help rebounds one (8), as do Dasha’s breakout smash Austin (8) and Tommy Richman’s MILLION DOLLAR BABY (11).

As The Eras Tour reaches the UK, Taylor Swift’s former chart-topper Fortnight ft. Post Malone lifts back into the Top 10 (10). Elsewhere, Taylor’s Cruel Summer makes a return to the Top 40, up three (14), and I Can Do It With A Broken Heart is also on the rise, up one (18).

As she claims her first-ever Top 10 album, Chappell Roan’s Good Luck, Babe! secures a brand-new peak this week, jumping three places (16). Further down the chart, Chappell’s HOT TO GO! makes its UK Top 40 debut, up seven (39).

As he prepares to join Taylor Swift at London’s Wembley Stadium this weekend, Benson Boone sees two tracks on the rebound: Slow It Down lifts three (15) as former chart-topper Beautiful Things jumps two (19).

Teddy Swims sees his second Top 40 single The Door rise four to a new best of Number 26.

With the 2024 Euros in full swing, Baddiel, Skinner & Lightning Seeds’ 1996 anthem Three Lions (Football’s Coming Home) storms back into the Top 40 (32).

And, finally, Flex (UK) ft. Nate Dogg’s 6 In The Morning nets a new peak this week, up three (37).
