Rihanna has opened up on her decision to ‘let go’ and have kids with A$AP Rocky
The singer revealed the COVID lockdowns were a turning point for her relationship with the rapper, explaining the COVID crisis brought them closer together.
“COVID sped up our relationship, which I felt like God knew we needed to because we were going to start a family,” Rihanna told Interview magazine.
“And had it not been for COVID, we would’ve taken a lot more time to get comfortable with each other, to even know that we were ready.”
She explained it wasn’t until she relinquished her sense of control over the relationship that it really started to thrive.
“I let God lead and just let go. Because in previous relationships, I tried and tried and tried my best, and you still feel like it’s not enough,” Rihanna, 36, shared.
“So when someone sees you completely, and believes in you, and thinks you’re worthy of being the mother of their kids, it’s a great feeling. I felt the same about him.
“I knew he would be a great dad.”
Rihanna, who shares two sons, RZA, 1, and Riot, with her 35-year-old partner, added her greatest happiness has come from motherhood.
“The only thing that I knew I wanted, or that I could imagine, was motherhood,” she said.
“I didn’t know how it would come, but it is the best part of my journey so far. Everything else was a surprise.”
