Michael Bublé would rather hear Bing Crosby than his own music Christmas morning

Michael Bublé’s wife plays his music first thing on Christmas morning even though the singer would prefer to wake up to Bing Crosby.
The Canadian crooner’s hits are synonymous with the festive season, with his 2011 covers album Christmas being one of the best-selling Christmas albums of all time, as well as one of the most commercially successful records of the 21st century.
However, the man himself would prefer to hear the original versions of the songs he’s covered.
“If it was up to me, it would be Bing Crosby playing (in our house),” the 49-year-old told Britain’s Magic Radio during his Michael Bublé’s Christmas List show. “But it isn’t, and my wife (Luisana Lopilato) is very sentimental so it’s me… (sings) ‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.’
“I win when we set up the Christmas tree because I don’t let them play me, I play Bing Crosby. Because that’s what I grew up with; Bing and Elvis and all that stuff.”
Michael also singled out Wham!’s Last Christmas as one of his top three seasonal songs.
And he vehemently rejects the notion that Christmas music is played too early.
“My controversial opinion is, I know a lot of people are cynical and they say, ‘The music is too early and they went too early.’ You know what, really?” he deadpanned. “People are nicer to each other. In this crazy chaotic world full of… I don’t want to say a swear word. There’s a lot of misery! And I don’t mind having a couple more weeks of kindness and light and joy and empathy and these beautiful things that this holiday really represents.”
The singer added that while he loves “the Christmas spirit”, he likes to take his tree down as soon as the day is over.
