Cardi B vows to fight non-payment lawsuit

Written by on September 18, 2024

Cardi B has vowed she’ll fight a non-payment lawsuit launched against her.

The rapper and her estranged husband Offset were accused of not paying the location fee for her Like What (Freestyle) music video.

Court documents show the owner of a mansion in Beverly Hills, California had accused the pair of not paying the rental fee for the property.

However, Cardi, 31, declared the lawsuit a waste of time.

“We paid those people $10,000 IN CASH to rent the property for a whole 24 hours that same day 6 am to 6 am the next morning,” she wrote in a fiery series of Twitter/X posts.

“We went over by ONE hour which we paid overage fees to the realtor for in March. There were cameras all over and both the realtors and the owners were there the ENTIRE time. I got pics and videos of them on set!”

She went on to dispute other elements of the lawsuit before instructing the property owner to “put on your best suit” for court.

“Now they wanna finesse us trying to say we told them it was a TikTok video when that was nowhere in the contract and like they didn’t hear the whole song playing and see how long we were shooting,” she wrote.

“Why would it take us 24 hours to shoot a TikTok? The problem is people wanna find loopholes and get over but IRON YOUR BEST SUIT B**CH I’ll see you in court!!!!”
